Habarana in Sri Lanka

Habarana, a small town in Sri Lanka’s Anuradhapura District is called. There are a few mid-range hotels and higher priced accommodations available for package tourists. It is also a good starting point to explore other nearby destinations of greater interest. Popular tourist spot for safari enthusiasts is Habarana. It is the starting point to safaris in the Habarana jungle, which is heavily populated with elephants. This small city also offers elephant back riding. Habarana, which is located near the Sigiriya castle/palace ruin, and the ancient rock fortress is also nearby, is on the main road between Colombo and Trincomalee and Polonnaruwa. It is estimated that the city will have a population between 5000 and 10,000 people. Tourists love the area because it has some of the most beautiful hotels in the country. The greenery and wildlife add value to the area, which makes it attractive.

Habarana is approximately 170km from Colombo. It is ideally situated to connect the ancient capitals Anuradhapura & Polonnaruwa with Sigiriya/Dambulla on a cultural triangle while being En route towards Passikuka/Kalkuda & Trincomalee.
