Dambulla is a large town in Central Province of Sri Lanka. It is located 148km north-east from Colombo and 72km north of Kandy. The Golden Rock Temple is located just south of Dambulla. This temple is located in a cave beneath a series of granite hillocks that rise 160m above the surrounding plains.

The Rangiri Dambulla International Cricket Stadium and Cave Temple Complex are the most prominent attractions in the region.
